In accordance with the Leisure and Tourism sector guidelines, we have taken extra precautions to ensure your safety and safety of others during your visit. We have upscaled the cleaning operations with particular attention to issues of Covid 19 hygiene – please see bulleted list below.

As well as a full change-over and a deep clean for each visit:

  • We have fixed an antiviral handwash dispenser by the front door to use upon each entry and, of course antiviral soap dispensers in each of the three bathrooms.
  • All surfaces are treated with Antiviral Disinfectant cleansers. This includes all kitchen and bathroom surfaces, pots, pans, door & cupboard handles, remotes, taps, sockets, light switches/pulls, baby high-chair, gate, travel cot etc.
  • We have left a dedicated laundry bag in each bedroom for guests to use.
  • We will rotate non-essential items such as cushions and throws.
  • Books have not been rotated – sanitising wipes under kitchen sink are left for guests to use before utilising any book.
  • Pictures, ornaments and display cabinets have been left for your enjoyment but please refrain from touching items.
  • We have removed hair-dryers – so please remember to bring your own

It is worth mentioning that there is little chance of encountering other folk in close proximity at Fossilers’ Lodge as the property stands pretty much alone save for the private and little-used outdoor access passage.

Located in the heart of Lyme Regis – a stone’s throw from the seafront, with views to the sea from the south facing windows – this four-bedroom home offers spacious and well-equipped accommodation for families or groups of couples seeking the perfect seaside break. This maisonette apartment, part of a Grade II listed building, has been fully refurbished with a new kitchen and bathrooms. The owner has made efforts to retain much of the character of this historic building, incorporating original features such as wood panelling, window seats and exposed beams. A wood burner has been fitted into the old half-inglenook fireplace in the sitting room and the furnishings and decor reflect a homely and relaxed approach to the holiday experience. There are four spacious bedrooms, two shower rooms plus a separate bathroom with the added benefit of complimentary towels, making this a great choice for larger groups.

Location

This apartment is located in the very heart of the beautiful, unspoilt seaside town of Lyme Regis, on the stunning Dorset coast. As well as a sandy beach and seafront promenade, the town includes restaurants, cafes, pubs and tearooms. Lyme Regis is a wonderful location for those looking for a traditional seaside break, there are a wide selection of independent shops, as well as an award winning museum and small theatre.

For the more adventurous the South West Coast Path heads west through the amazing Undercliff between Lyme Regis and Axmouth, or east towards Charmouth and the magnificent National Trust land at Golden Cap. For those planning a holiday without a car, the mainline railway station in nearby Axminster is served by a regular bus service (or taxis), to and from the town.

Accommodation Layout

Self-contained apartment arranged over two floors – ground floor entrance door with stairs to first floor.

First floor: Kitchen/dining room with view to sea – gas hob & large oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave. Lounge/sitting room with view to sea – Smart TV/DVD with Netflix, YouTube and other entertainment apps and large wood burner. Bedroom 1 with double bed. Shower room with shower cubicle and w.c.

Second floor: Bedroom 2 with twin beds. Bathroom with bath and w.c. Bedroom 3 with twin beds. Bedroom 4 with double bed and en suite shower room, shower cubicle, w.c. Utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer.

Outside: Small paved courtyard with small table and chairs (next to entrance door – shared access with neighbouring properties). Shops, pubs and beach within a minute’s walk.

Facilities and services

Central heating included. Logs for wood burner not provided – can be purchased locally. Bed linen and towels included, but please do bring your own beach towels and hairdryers. Space for additional infant – travel cot, highchair and stair gate provided. Wireless internet access included.

Dogs

£15 per dog per week. Up to two well-behaved dogs welcome.

Other information

A £100 refundable security deposit to secure booking and cover breakages will be required at the time of booking. Then the full rental fee is required 2 weeks before your arrival. Your £100 deposit will be returned after your departure. 

Allocated off-road parking for one car only, approximately 200m from Fossilers Lodge – DT7 3DD. Additional public parking available nearby at Charmouth Road car park at  approximately £2 per day. 

No smoking in Fossilers’ but you may smoke in the courtyard. 

Arrival 4.00pm – Departure 10.00am.

Arrival day for weekly bookings is Friday.  Short breaks also available at certain times of the year.
